Frequently asked questions

What people tend to wonder before ordering

The most common questions are about BankID, text messages, what happens if the phone breaks, and why there are only six contacts.

  • BankID and Swish do not work — that is deliberate.
  • Text messages can be switched on in the admin menu if you want them.
  • Six contacts is a deliberate choice, not a technical limit.
  • The licence moves to a new phone at no extra cost.

When bank ID is used

Two phones — one you can always call with

Bank ID, mobile payments and banking apps cannot be used on the phone running CallByFace. There is no browser and no app store on it. Most people in this situation handle banking together with a family member anyway, and a phone kept at home is enough for that.

The CallByFace phone

  • Stays within reach, always ready
  • Calling and answering — nothing else
  • No apps, no login

One more phone

  • Lives in a drawer or on a desk
  • Bank ID, payments and banking.
  • Its own SIM may be needed for payments, otherwise wi-fi.
  • Picked up when needed, usually with family

If bank ID is used, this is how it is usually solved — with a phone you already own.

The objections we get

This is the criticism people actually raise. We would rather write it out ourselves, with honest answers, than leave it unanswered.
